Corona: update measures Italy
(14 January 2022)
The sharp increase in the number of infections due to the Omicron variant is causing Member States to take additional measures.
The state of emergency is extended until 31 March 2022.
Everyone, including truck drivers, travelling to Italy is obliged to fill in the Passenger Locator Form before departure.
From 15 February 2022, private and public sector workers over 50 years of age will be subject to a new vaccination requirement to gain access to the workplace. They must have and be able to show the so-called Super Green Pass “rafforzato” (released after completion of full vaccination or recovered from Covid).
Truck drivers are not exempted from these measures. Drivers working for foreign transport companies who do not have a covid green certificate (or the Super Green Pass for those over 50 years of age) may still enter specially designated loading and unloading bays, provided that loading or unloading is done by other personnel.
The covid green certificate means the certificate of vaccination, proof of recovery or the result of a negative test. The super covid green certificate refers to the vaccination certificate or recovery certificate. These are the QR codes you can retrieve by using the CovidSafe app.
If the Italian customer demands a covid green certificate and your driver is not fully vaccinated, the driver (< 50 years) can have a quick test taken at an Italian pharmacy. These have to be taken by the pharmacist.
