Autria: traffic control system

On Wednesday 24 November the Austrians started their new traffic control system (Blockabfertigungen), which means that they stop all truck traffic and divert them to parking places, let cars pass to clear the road, and after a few hours they divide the trucks in blocks, and let them join one block at a time.

In practice, this means that all lorry traffic has to contend with severe delays. This applies to all freight traffic through Austria, as well as to freight traffic to and from Italy.
